Keyworking Service

SMART London provides one-to-one keyworking support for adults experiencing mental health difficulties and practical challenges such as housing or benefits. We work alongside individuals with complex mental health needs to support their recovery, improve their independence, and enhance their overall quality of life.

Each person is matched with a dedicated keyworker who takes the time to understand what matters most to them. Together, they identify personal triggers and coping strategies, set meaningful goals, and break these down into manageable steps.

Support covers two main areas: Wellbeing Support and Advocacy Support, ensuring that both mental health and practical needs are addressed side by side.

Support is flexible, with planned breaks built in to reflect progress and encourage independence.

Through regular, structured appointments, we help individuals build the skills and confidence to take ownership of their own goals and action plans, engage with specialist services where needed, and actively apply coping strategies in their daily lives.

Ultimately, our aim is for every person we work with to develop the tools and confidence to manage their own wellbeing and everyday needs, reducing their reliance on caseworking support as they grow in independence.

Wellbeing Support

This focuses on improving mental and physical wellbeing in a way that is personal to you. Working alongside your caseworker, you will create strategies to help manage and improve your mental health, develop a personalised Wellbeing Plan that reflects your needs and goals, and work steadily towards the things that matter most to you.

This strand of support is about building self-awareness, resilience, and confidence so that you feel better equipped to manage your wellbeing in the long term.

Advocacy Support

This helps you navigate difficulties in the practical side of life such as housing, benefits or even just managing mail. We understand that this can often feel overwhelming when you are also managing your mental health. Your caseworker will work with you to map out your current situation, identify any barriers, and agree on clear next steps.

They can act as a bridge between you and specialist services, hosting meetings on your behalf and ensuring your voice is heard.

Client Journey

The pathway sets out the different stages of your support. Each stage has a clear focus and will help you build the confidence and skills to manage more independently. The weeks are approximate and will depend on your needs.
