Welcome to SMART
In 1985 St Mary Abbots Rehabilitation and Training (SMART) was registered as a Charity to support people affected by mental illness on their path to recovery.
SMART Café is Open!
Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 10.30am – 4.00pm, and Saturdays and Sundays: 10.30am – 4.00pm.
Why not pop in for a cuppa (cheapest prices in Chelsea!) and a snack in a relaxing environment. We’ve also got craft materials available to make boxes, greeting cards, and a range of other items, free of charge.
To find out more about other activities we run, please see the timetable below, the “What We Do” section of our website, or get in touch with us using the details on our “Contact Us” page.

Visit us
SMART has two entrances, one that faces the mental health hospital, and another that backs on to the wider Chelsea community. You are welcome to visit us through either.
Meaningful activity
The founders recognised the importance of meaningful activity and training as a way to rebuild lives, giving people purpose, confidence and skills. As the Charity grew it also recognised the importance of friends, music, laughter and fun.
